Wage Range: $25.64 - $41.00 per hour
15% Per Diem Pay

Job Summary:
Responsible for scheduling all inpatient, outpatient surgery center, and outpatient clinic procedures with standards established by EvergreenHealth Surgical Services and EvergreenHealth Surgical Center. Responsible for obtaining necessary insurance pre-authorizations. Assists in other clerical duties required for the efficient operations of the clinic.
Primary Duties:
1. Schedules surgeries in accordance with availability of space, staffing and equipment, for surgical cases done at EvergreenHealth for inpatient, outpatient surgery center, and outpatient clinic procedures.
2. Works cooperatively with the schedulers at EvergreenHealth surgical facilities.
3. Obtains insurance prior authorizations.
4. Obtains insurance benefits, including estimation of copays and deductibles and communicates same to patient.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED for the position:
• High School graduate or equivalent
• 2 years of scheduling experience in a medical environment
• Strong medical terminology, including anatomy and physiology.
• Keyboarding: 45 words per minute.
• Possess spelling, punctuation, grammar and numerical skills

DESIRED for the position:
• College or vocational training in medical terminology/insurance and billing
• Experience with surgery scheduling
• Knowledge of Medicare, DSHS, and other third party reimbursement regulation
